Ubisoft Deploy Rainbow Six in Critical Hour

Ubisoft today announced the arrival of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Critical Hour for Xbox, described by Ubisoft as a return to the series' tactical roots.

Critical Hour offers a new, seven-mission single-player campaign covering John Clark's retirement and the introduction of Ding Chavez. Ubisoft Quebec will relive the nostalgia of the series by including eight fan-selected single-player missions from the original Rainbow Six and Rogue Spear games -- brought up-to-date with modern looks on the Xbox.

The gameplay has altogether been tweaked under Ubisoft's new guidance allowing for slower pacing and to support an "advanced combat model" in which player stance and motion affects weapon accuracy. The game offers more than 20 weapons all told -- including the return of classics -- plus the high-tech equipment which is a signature of the franchise.

Critical Hour also includes 18 maps, non-linear level design, a "Persistent Elite Creation" (P.E.C.) mode, plus two new play modes: Assassin and Free-for-All over the Xbox Live online service.

That was quick, I didn't think it was going to be out for a while!

Too right :) I'm sure its just a place holder for Vegas. When Critical Hour was announced all people talked about was why it wasn't on the 360.

Ubi Montreal will deliver on 360, no worries. If you're really dying to play this game, just buy a cheap classic copy on PC or PSX ;)

I have all the classic Rainbow games from Rainbow Six and Rogue Spear through Urban Ops to Athena Sword.
But these are supposed to be improved graphically and gameplay.
At least I hope so.
