Nintendo's plan to combat Wii stock shortages

More Wii's on the way!

We were one of the lucky ones as we pre-ordered our Wii 4 months before they were due in the shops, but nearly four months after launch many gamers are still chomping at the bit for the next large batch to arrive.

The good news is that Nintendo are trying to do something about it. They're currently seeking a new manufacturing partner in addition to Foxconn, who are currently the sole producers of the console.

In the running to be one or more of Nintendo's new manufacturing partners are: Asustek Computer and Wistron, who will be firm favourites due to their recent help with the production of the PS3, and Compal Electronics, Inventec and Wistron.

Whoever they choose, we can expect Nintendo to make a decision soon and should see more Wii's hitting the shops over the coming months.

Hang out for it guys, it's worth it.
